Process

Beginning with an alginate mould, I created a plaster positive of my own fist that I used as a guide to create the 2:1 scale life sculpt. From this I made a two-part plaster mould, in which I cast latex as a skin & soft urethane foam as a core, leaving a void that fits my fist so that I can wear the cast as a glove.

After seaming & cleaning the cast I prepared it for paint using a rubber cement, white spirit & oil paint mixture as a primer, on which I airbrushed the base coat & final detail in acrylic inks.
